We are seeking a Principal Communications Generalist responsible for managing internal and external communication strategies supporting an Executive Vice President. This role involves executive thought leadership, employee engagement, organizational change, and culture initiatives. The position requires collaboration across global teams, ensuring messaging consistency and data-driven strategies.

The role supports U.S. time zones and is primarily in-person at Lafayette, CO, with options in Minneapolis, MN, or Boston, MA. Travel is less than 10%.

Responsibilities include:

Creating and implementing internal strategic communication activities aligned with Medtronic’s Mission and business objectives.

Developing content to promote employee engagement and support organizational goals.

Planning and executing communication plans to inform employees about policies, initiatives, and company news.

Supporting leadership in communicating key updates and change initiatives.

Collaborating with various teams to develop external stakeholder content, including clinical data, product milestones, and events.

Measuring communication effectiveness and optimizing strategies accordingly.

Managing external agencies and contractors as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree.

7+ years of relevant corporate communications experience, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.

Preferred Skills:

Degree in Communications or Journalism.

Excellent writing, editing, and creative skills.

Strong project management and collaboration skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and social media platforms.

Experience working in a matrixed organization and with senior leaders.

Ability to adapt to Medtronic’s brand voice and organizational dynamics.
