Senior Process-Piping Designer/BIM Designer
with supervisory and management responsibilities. The role requires proficiency in detailed design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure, along with an advanced understanding of 3D design concepts and related technology. Responsibilities include: Develop piping system layouts in accordance with BIM requirements, including pipe spacing, fitting makeup, valve locations, and inline components using 3D applications and 2D drawings from sketches, catalog cut sheets, and P&ID’s provided by engineers and senior staff. Generate fabrication isometric drawings from 3D design models. Coordinate modeling and drawing production activities across all disciplines at the project level. Provide clash detection reports using Autodesk Navisworks or Bentley Navigator. Provide model interrogation data reports (quantities, parts list, etc.). Perform quality checks on drafted products to ensure conformance with modeling and drawing standards, including project-specific CAD/BIM requirements. Create 2D drawing views from 3D models and develop final contract drawings. Produce engineering documents and related materials with minimal supervision. Provide basic CAD/BIM technical support to junior staff. Convert data between MicroStation and AutoCAD. Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering design. Motivated, results-driven, team-oriented self-starter. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented, organized, with good follow-up skills. Working knowledge of industry pipe standards such as AWWA and ANSI B16. Advanced proficiency in developing 2D process mechanical design drawings. Extensive knowledge of 3D design concepts and BIM related to process mechanical design for piping, valves, inline components, and equipment. Comprehensive understanding of structural design and its interface with process mechanical equipment and piping. Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit MEP or Bentley OpenPlant Modeler. Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation in 2D and 3D functions. Additional Qualifications: Experience in detailed design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
