As a Staff System Software Verification Engineer, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our automotive systems. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing verification and validation activities to uphold safety and performance standards. Your expertise will be crucial to project success and our reputation for excellence. Qualifications
You'll have… Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar 10+ years of experience in the automotive or relevant industry Strong understanding of automotive systems, embedded software, and control systems Experience with automotive testing instrumentation and tools Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay) Experience with automotive HIL test benches, particularly with dSPACE, Vector VT, or similar platforms Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and automotive testing methodologies Previous leadership or mentorship experience Even better, you may have… Masters or PhD in a relevant engineering field Familiarity with safety-critical software development and standards like ISO 26262 Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB Experience testing fully electric vehicles We encourage applicants who may not check every box but believe they can bring value to Ford Motor Company to apply! What you'll do… Design, build, and maintain automotive system test benches with a focus on automation. Create verification and validation plans for automotive software systems. Develop and execute test cases to verify system functionality, performance, and safety. Implement automation scripts and tools to improve testing efficiency. Integrate hardware and software components for reliable test environments. Lead debugging efforts, working with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, and prevent regressions. Collaborate with software, controls, and systems engineers on V&V strategies. Mentor junior engineers in V&V methodologies and best practices. Improve testing processes and tools continuously. Report verification activities and results to stakeholders.
