Vice President, Financial Operations & Analysis Description Our Financial Operations & Analysis (FOA) department is seeking a Vice President to join their team. The FOA team is committed to providing timely, accurate, and critical financial data analysis for the firm. In this role, you will have cross-functional visibility and collaborate with internal groups such as Portfolio & Asset Management and Client Service & Marketing, as well as external service providers.

The Vice President will lead a team supporting accounting, finance, valuation, and portfolio & asset management within Heitman. The ideal candidate is a trusted leader and self-starter with strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, thriving in a collaborative environment. Organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential, along with a proven track record of leading and developing professional staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing quarterly and annual financial reports and supporting workpapers from third-party fund administrators.

Reviewing and approving complex accounting transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and waterfall calculations.

Reviewing and approving IRRs and time-weighted returns, providing analysis and projections to Portfolio & Asset Management.

Coordinating, reviewing, and analyzing quarterly property and debt valuations in collaboration with various teams.

Utilizing internal and external relationships and technical expertise to resolve questions and improve processes.

Participating in ad hoc projects such as due diligence for real estate transactions and client questionnaires.

Supporting strategic initiatives like launching new funds and developing organizational processes.

Managing relationships with third parties including clients, fund administrators, consultants, and others.

Assisting in implementing fund and investment strategies.

Managing multiple projects and developing solutions to optimize performance.

Communicating analysis and results to internal teams and committees.

Mentoring team members, addressing staffing and performance issues.

Introducing efficiencies and overseeing improvements, including tech-enabled tools.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of real estate accounting and finance experience.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong communication and writing skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests under tight deadlines.

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

Supervisory experience.

Experience with valuation and Argus modeling is a plus.

Job Location and Travel

Based in Chicago with a hybrid work environment.

The annual base salary range is $150,000 - $180,000, with bonus potential. Compensation depends on experience, performance, and other factors.
