Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) is currently accepting applications for the 2025-2026 candidate eligibility list.

KCFD1 is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of our community, visitors and neighbors by providing professional emergency services with compassion, courtesy and integrity. KCFD 1 is a special district located in the Klamath Basin, known as one of the most biologically and geologically diverse areas on earth surrounded by an abundance of woodland, wetland and wildlife. KCFD1 takes the responsibility to protect our basin and its community to the highest honor. Through our value-driven team, we provide structural and wildland fire protection, emergency advanced life support, ambulance transport, hazardous materials response and emergency rescue. KCFD1 is comprised of 64 line personnel who provide coverage through 4 fire stations. In 2024 our team responded to 9,847 calls for service. Line personnel are scheduled to work a 56-hour (48/96 shift schedule), housed in modern facilities, with state of the art equipment and are represented by Internal Association of Firefighters Local 890.

Paramedic Annual Base Salary: $60,494.16 - $66,282.12 EMT/AEMT/EMT-1 Annual Base Salary: $46,927.00 - $60,619.32* *Compensation for this role is currently under review for the 2025-2028 collective bargaining agreement and may be subject to adjustment once finalized. To be considered for this position applicants must meet the below requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid Oregon Driver’s License and insurable driving record.

Current Oregon or National Registry EMT/Paramedic License by time of hire

ACLS Certification (Paramedic only)

CPR Card • EVOC certified, NFPA Driver or equivalent (must earn during probationary year)

OSHA equivalent HazMat Emergency Responder Awareness and Operations (must earn during probationary year.

NIMS 100, 200, and 700 (must earn within probationary year)
