Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) is currently accepting applications for the 2025-2026 candidate eligibility list.
Recruiting For: Dual Role Firefighter/Paramedic
We are looking for individuals who are committed to living our values through teamwork and an environment grounded in customer service, to join our team and help serve and strengthen our community through meaningful work. KCFD1 is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of our community, visitors and neighbors by providing professional emergency services with compassion, courtesy and integrity. KCFD 1 is a special district located in the Klamath Basin, known as one of the most biologically and geologically diverse areas on earth surrounded by an abundance of woodland, wetland and wildlife. KCFD1 takes the responsibility to protect our basin and its community to the highest honor. Through our value-driven team, we provide structural and wildland fire protection, emergency advanced life support, ambulance transport, hazardous materials response and emergency rescue. KCFD1 is comprised of 64 line personnel who provide coverage through 4 fire stations. In 2024 our team responded to 9,847 calls for service. Line personnel are scheduled to work a 56-hour (48/96 shift schedule), housed in modern facilities, with state of the art equipment and are represented by Internal Association of Firefighters Local 890.
Annual Salary with Incentive: $76,401.29 - $92,233.57* *Compensation for this role is currently under review for the 2025-2028 collective bargaining agreement and may be subject to adjustment once finalized. As a member of the KCFD1 team you will be eligible for excellent benefits incentives:

High School Diploma or equiv.
Valid Oregon Driver’s License
Current CPR Card
NFPA Firefighter 1
Oregon or National Registry Paramedic License- issued by date of hire
Valid CPAT- issued by date of hire
ACLS Certification
EVOC certified, NFPA Driver, or equivalent (must earn within probationary year)
OSHA equivalent HazMat Emergency Responder Awareness and Operations (must earn within probationary year)
NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 (must earn within probationary year)
