Description
The School Psychologist will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, develop, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students. The student population primarily includes non-verbal and non-ambulatory children with brain injuries or brain-based disorders. The role involves contributing to research efforts related to these students and organizational research initiatives. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of child psychological and educational development, possess leadership qualities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and demonstrate accountability.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the educational team, including nurses, medical staff, teachers, and administrators, to integrate information and support student social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Conduct psychological assessments, interpret results, and participate in IEP and team meetings.
- Provide related services such as social work, parent counseling and training, and psychological counseling as needed.
- Lead crisis interventions and contribute to the development of behavioral assessments and intervention plans.
- Assist in remediation efforts through treatment plans, counseling, and referrals.
- Support teachers in implementing classroom accommodations.
- Develop and execute intervention plans for students, families, and the community.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, administrators, and service providers regarding student needs.
- Maintain accurate case files and progress reports.
- Utilize assessment tools to identify student needs across various settings and monitor progress.
- Conduct interviews with students and families for evaluations, intake, and social history gathering.
- Set growth goals for students and families, and create both short-term and long-term plans.
- Complete progress reports for social work and parent training IEPs.
- Use various tools and techniques, including observations and interviews, to evaluate student and family progress.
- Schedule and conduct monthly Parent Counseling and Training sessions.
- Work with families to identify growth areas and support active participation in IEP goals.
- Assist in developing educational modules for staff training and accreditation.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment, complying with regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA/FERPA.
- Perform other discipline-specific duties as organizational needs dictate.
- Prepare and submit session notes daily.
- Participate in quarterly iBRAIN Innovation meetings.
- Support RAs/Paras in understanding student IEPs and formulating research questions.
- Complete annual research integrity training.
- Identify knowledge gaps annually for continuing education.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology required.
- Valid School Psychologist Certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with children having brain injuries or disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, flexible, detail-oriented, motivated, and team-oriented.
- A sense of humor is required.
