St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) Job Title: Product Sourcing Relationship Coordinator Reports To: Director of Product Sourcing and Repackaging Employees Supervised: None Position Overview: The Product Sourcing Relationship Coordinator plays a key supporting role in helping the St. Louis Area Foodbank recover food from grocery stores, farms, and agricultural partners. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with donors, coordinating donation pickups, and ensuring that all food safety and handling guidelines are followed. The coordinator will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support food recovery efforts and reduce food waste in our region. Key Objectives: Assist with increasing food donations from grocery and agricultural sources. Support and maintain donor relationships across Missouri and Illinois. Coordinate the pickup and documentation of rescued food. Ensure rescued food meets safety and quality standards. Connect Foodbank partner agencies with local donation opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Relationship Coordination: Help maintain positive working relationships with grocery stores, farms, and food donors. Serve as a point of contact for routine communication and donor support. Conduct check-ins with existing partners to ensure smooth donation processes. Identify new potential partners and share opportunities with the Product Sourcing team. Food Recovery Support: Coordinate donation pickups with grocery and farm partners. Communicate with drivers, warehouse teams, and volunteers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Track donation volumes and types using inventory and reporting tools. Help implement and reinforce proper food handling and safety procedures during donation activities. Compliance & Food Quality: Monitor and report issues related to food safety, quality, or handling concerns. Support training efforts for staff, volunteers, and partners on food safety and donation best practices. Help maintain accurate records of all rescued food and partner interactions. Outreach & Communication: Represent the Foodbank at local events and meetings as needed. Help create simple reports and updates to highlight donation successes. Support donor appreciation efforts by sending thank-you notes or organizing recognition activities. Qualifications: Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit coordination, logistics, agriculture, retail, or related fields. Experience: 1-2 years in a coordination, customer service, or food-related role preferred. Skills:

Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to build and maintain relationships Basic understanding of food safety practices Comfortable using Microsoft Office and simple inventory systems Self-motivated and team-oriented

Work Schedule: This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), generally Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening or weekend events. Time will be split between offsite visits to partners and time at the Foodbank campus. Some remote work may be permitted when appropriate. Physical Requirements: Walking on hard concrete surfaces (in the Warehouse or the Volunteer Repackaging Center). Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. We facilitate the movement of food safely and efficiently and offer the kinds of resources and support to our partner agencies that a single food pantry or shelter could not hope to access on its own.
