Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This is a hands-on accounting responsibility with leadership and strategic oversight. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes, while also mentoring junior staff and managing daily accounting operations. This role is well-suited for a seasoned accounting professional looking to step into more leadership, or a current manager who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, accruals, and journal entries. Manage fixed assets accounting, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Leadership & Oversight
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff; provide guidance on technical accounting and procedural issues. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and support tax compliance efforts. Manage and improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal control frameworks. Serve as a key liaison between accounting and cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Operations, HR, and Legal). Additional Responsibilities
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate actuals and variance analyses. Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking. Participate in systems implementation or enhancements (e.g., ERP upgrades, automation initiatives). Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed by leadership. Requirements
Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred. Experience Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing accounting staff and functions. Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment is highly desirable. Public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier firm) is a plus. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls. Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise). Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data modeling). Experience with financial reporting tools and automation platforms a plus. Soft Skills & Competencies Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
