Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg | Tele
Shift: 12-Hour Days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
Start Date: September 22nd (Non-flexible)
Location: Must reside within a 100-mile radius
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg | Tele department. This role will involve providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting, focusing on various medical diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, radiation patients, and acute kidney injury (AKI). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with proficiency in Epic EMR and at least two years of experience, including one year in a specialty area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered care within a team of healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing care plans based on clinical guidelines.
- Administer medications and therapies, including intravenous (IV) fluids and medications as directed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Adhere to hospital policies and best practices to maintain patient safety and quality care.
Work Environment:
- Nurse Patient Ratios: Days 1:5-6, Nights 1:6
- Number of Beds: 90 (double occupancy beds)
- Supported by Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) and a dedicated Telemetry Tech (travelers do not need to read telemetry).
- Equipment: Bipap, stable trach management.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum two years of RN experience with at least one year in a specialty setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Typically 2 out of 3 holidays
Additional Information:
- Floating requirements include Med Surg and stable low acuity in ICU, RDU, and Foothills clinic.
- Orientation will consist of one day of clinical education, one day of Epic orientation, and a day on the floor.
- Low Census On-Call may be required.
