Job Description
Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - Med/Surg
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting to join our dynamic Med/Surg team. The ideal candidate must possess an active compact nursing license and hold a current BLS certification.
Unit Overview:
- Location: Portsmouth, NH
- Unit Beds: 36
- Patient Ratios: 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge periods
- Support Staff: Includes unit secretaries (day shifts only) and LNAs for both shifts
- Equipment: Telemetry
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct hourly safety rounds and actively engage in bedside shift reports.
- Manage patient care responsibilities including IV therapy, wound care, chest tube management, foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and telemetry monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg nursing experience.
- Active compact nursing license at the time of submission.
- BLS certification required; IV certification is mandatory.
Work Expectations:
- Committed to self-scheduling with the availability of 3-12 hour shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays.
- Potential for floating to similar care levels as needed to support departmental needs.
