Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate mission-critical computers and networking devices into the overall system architecture

Develop and maintain network archiving strategies to ensure compliance with program requirements, including data retention and retrieval

Perform regular network performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization to support mission-critical operations

Provide SME-level support and guidance to teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and program standards

Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support long-term sustainability

Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and propose innovative solutions for program needs

Assess, develop, implement, validate, and maintain Cyber security measures to comply with data/network security and flight safety requirements

Basic Qualifications – Principal Network System Engineer: Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in network infrastructure design and management, with a focus on VLANs. Equivalent experience may be considered

Knowledge of VLANs and implementation and segregation of VLANs. Configure, monitor, and manage VLANs to ensure secure and efficient network segmentation and traffic management.

Knowledge of Cisco

Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 routing and implementing route tables, NAT and other related functions/principles

Knowledge of RHEL

Hands-on experience with mission computer integration and configuring advanced networking devices

Proficiency in using network monitoring and configuration tools

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management

Ability to work onsite full-time at Woodland Hills, CA

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in network archiving, including implementation of storage and retrieval systems

Strong understanding of network protocols, security standards, and best practices

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification

CompTIA Network+ certification

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
