About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Plumbing Board Unit, which is dedicated to the licensing and regulation of plumbing and gas fitting professions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily administrative functions of the unit, managing all board and subcommittee meetings, and ensuring compliance with the Open Meeting Law. This role involves establishing and maintaining strong relationships with board members, managing the unit's personnel, and coordinating board member activities. The Executive Director will also be involved in the development and oversight of individual and business licensure processes, as well as the approval of educational programs and requirements.
Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity. A background in business administration, public administration, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a graduate degree. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of management principles, the legislative and regulatory process, and state government operations. Excellent communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships, and substantive knowledge in the subject matter of the plumbing and gas fitting professions are essential. Experience in database management, licensing, site inspections, and complaint investigation is also necessary.
