About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Head of Preclinical Sciences to lead the strategic and operational aspects of preclinical development. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the preclinical strategy, including toxicology, DMPK, and bioanalytical sciences, to support the IND submissions and the advancement of the biologics pipeline in neuromuscular and rare diseases. This role requires a visionary leader with a PhD, DVM, or PharmD in a relevant discipline, and at least 15 years of experience in biotech or pharma R&D, particularly in the areas of toxicology and preclinical development. The VP will be a key contributor to regulatory filings, lead a high-performing internal team, and foster a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration.

Key responsibilities for the VP, Head of Preclinical Sciences include setting the scientific and operational strategy for preclinical sciences, providing thought leadership on IND readiness, and representing the function in governance forums. The role also involves overseeing GLP and non-GLP toxicology studies, directing DMPK studies, and leading the integration of bioanalysis and biomarker strategy into nonclinical programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biologics, a deep understanding of GLP regulatory requirements, and experience in leading successful regulatory filings. A passion for rare disease research and a mission-driven approach to science are essential, as is the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
