Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware. Thorough knowledge of PACS system. Maintains CEU credits. Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within the twelve months following their hire date. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire date. Description: The CT Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques. This role produces sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. The technologist assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures. The responsibilities include performing complex CT procedures. Professional judgment is used when reviewing and obtaining patients' clinical history. Information must be documented and scanned into the appropriate system. The technologist prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with the patient. They identify, administer, and verify the appropriateness of contrast media related to CT exams. There's a responsibility for verifying insurance authorized exam scripts. The role includes obtaining external studies and scheduling them in the appropriate system. They provide exam copies to patients as required. The technologist evaluates radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic value using the PACS system. Consistent and appropriate techniques are used to gather relevant patient information. They determine patient preparation for the procedure and prep patients for scanning. Determining the type and dose of contrast to be administered is a key responsibility. Accurate explanations and instructions must be provided to patients, addressing their concerns. The role includes performing venipuncture and monitoring patients' physical conditions. The technologist is responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends. They must comply with policies regarding behavior, attendance, and punctuality. Physical requirements include lifting a minimum of 25 lbs., pushing and pulling at least 50 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours a day. Modification and delivery of care must be specific to the needs of the patient population served. Communicating effectively with patients and caregivers is essential. Adherence to organizational competencies and standards of behavior is required.
