Senior Bookkeeper I (Director I)
The Senior Bookkeeper I is an experienced accounting professional responsible for managing complex client accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, and mentoring junior staff. This role is best suited for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Desktop (QBD), reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position involves working independently and collaboratively with senior accounting staff. It offers opportunities to lead workflows, provide advisory support, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. Primary Responsibilities Manage multiple client accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial data. Review and guide junior bookkeepers, resolving complex transactions and reconciliation issues. Perform advanced reconciliations (bank, credit card) and resolve discrepancies. Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and invoices. Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Handle complex payroll transactions and ensure compliance with tax requirements. Mentor Bookkeeper I and II team members to support professional growth. Core Bookkeeping Functions Accounting & Data Management Record complex transactions and ensure accuracy in QBO/QBD. Categorize income and expenses in alignment with client charts of accounts. Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and correct discrepancies. Manage AP/AR processes, including payments, receivables tracking, and issue resolution. QuickBooks Expertise Set up and maintain client files, customizing QBO/QBD based on business needs. Leverage bank feeds for efficient categorization and reconciliation. Generate financial reports and assist with payroll processing and filings. Compliance & Reporting Ensure data integrity through regular review and cleanup. Monitor sales tax tracking, filing, and remittance. Lead month-end and year-end closings; support audit readiness with accurate documentation. Client & Vendor Relations Serve as primary contact for client financial questions and insights. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely bill payments. Review and process employee reimbursements in line with company policies. Operational Excellence Adhere to Out of the Box Technology's standard operating procedures. Stay current on QuickBooks updates and industry best practices. Collaborate with senior accountants on advisory and reporting tasks. Key Competencies Integrity & Accuracy:
