About the Role
Terch & Associates, on behalf of Anderson, Kuiti & Asuma (AKA), is seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in downtown Duluth. This is a key role serving 10-12 small business clients across multiple industries, each with their own unique processes. You'll be the go-to QuickBooks expert, trusted to manage complex books, run payroll, ensure tax compliance, and troubleshoot issues for both clients and junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary bookkeeper for 10-12 small business clients across multiple industries
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and Desktop, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Manage sales and use tax filings, including monitoring deadlines and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare year-end financials and assist clients with annual reporting requirements
  • Troubleshoot QuickBooks and payroll issues for clients and provide guidance to junior staff when needed
  • Collaborate with clients to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices
  • Support special projects, such as setting up new bookkeeping systems or catching up on missed records
  • Track and meet billable hour goals while maintaining high accuracy and client satisfaction
Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years QuickBooks Online and Desktop experience
  • 3+ years multi-client bookkeeping or 5+ years deep single-client bookkeeping
  • 3+ years payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional bookkeeping experience (compensation may increase accordingly)
  • QuickBooks Online app experience
  • Multi-industry background
  • Tax compliance and public accounting experience
Work Schedule & Environment
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Extra hours during tax season (up to 55 hours/week)

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $55,000 - $70,000/year (exempt)
