Job Title: Employment and Labor Law Attorney

A respected law firm located in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Education and Employment legal practice. This hybrid role is designed for a professional with extensive experience advising employers on workplace issues and handling related disputes. The position offers an opportunity to lead matters for a diverse client base including both public and private sector entities. The firm promotes a culture of collaboration, community engagement, and professional development, with flexible work options available. Duties: Represent public and private employers in employment-related matters Advise educational institutions and other organizations on compliance with workplace regulations Handle litigation involving employment disputes, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour claims Support clients in labor negotiations, grievance arbitration, and union-related issues (if applicable) Supervise or collaborate with team members on complex legal projects Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive legal counsel Engage in community and professional activities to support client outreach and development Requirements: Minimum 10 years of experience practicing employment and/or labor law Demonstrated capacity to manage and grow a book of business Proven client service mindset and ability to work independently and within teams Familiarity with the public sector and private employer representation is strongly preferred Experience in traditional labor law (e.g., collective bargaining, union representation) is advantageous Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Certifications: Active membership in the California State Bar Membership in the Oregon State Bar is a plus Skills: Strong written and verbal advocacy skills Proficiency in managing litigation from intake through resolution Practical problem-solving approach with strategic legal thinking Comfort with hybrid/remote work environments and digital case management tools Client-first mindset and adaptability in handling diverse workplace legal issues Job Location: Long Beach, CA Hybrid work model; remote arrangements may be considered based on experience Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and generous leave policies Professional development and continuing legal education (CLE) support Retirement plan with firm contributions Inclusive and collaborative firm culture with emphasis on diversity and community involvement Access to affinity groups and diversity-focused initiatives Company info Our growing Los Angeles office is looking to add to its ranks through the acquisition of new partners and/or groups.Serving our clients since 1908, Dinsmore & Shohl is a national AmLaw 200 firm offering a comprehensive menu of le...
