Clyde & Co is seeking a
counsel-level litigation attorney with 8+ years of experience to work with our practice focused on the defense of a myriad of complex general liability matters, including (but not limited to) New York Labor Law, premises liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation, and negligent security
. The ideal candidate is proactive, motivated, and organized and possesses superior writing skills. The attorney will interact with our clients and other domestic and international insurers in this space and in relation to other latent type insurance claims. Responsibilities In this role you will: Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters Take and defend depositions Attend court hearings and mediations Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients Conduct complex legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis Draft discovery requests and discovery responses Review and analyze documents and materials for production Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds Work on all aspects of litigation, from the initial responsive pleading through trial or mediation Manage and supervise associates and paralegals. The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
