Chief Operating Officer

Reports to: CEO/Owner Direct Reports Include: Sales Managers Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite Position Overview The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior executive responsible for leading Unlimited Logistics’ brokerage and sales divisions, driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and market expansion. Reporting directly to the CEO/Owner, the COO sets strategic direction, develops high-performing leadership teams, and ensures the company’s revenue operations deliver exceptional results. This role oversees sales leaders, and key account managers; focusing on strategic growth, customer retention, and carrier network optimization. Key Responsibilities • Partner with the CEO/Owner to define company growth objectives and sales strategies. • Lead and mentor the Director of Brokerage Operations and sales leadership to meet revenue and margin targets. • Oversee brokerage operations, sales performance, and customer service quality. • Develop KPIs for revenue growth, operational efficiency, and profitability. • Negotiate major contracts with carriers, vendors, and strategic customers. • Monitor and guide the resolution of high-impact operational issues, including major cargo claims. • Ensure SOPs, pricing strategies, and operational processes align with company goals. • Foster a performance-driven, customer-focused culture across all revenue teams. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred). • 10+ years in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation sales; 5+ years in senior leadership. • Proven ability to lead leaders and manage revenue-generating operations. • Strong understanding of carrier procurement, 3PL operations, and margin optimization. • Experience in developing SOPs, performance metrics, and strategic growth plans. • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (TMS/WMS experience preferred).
