JOB SUMMARY: The School Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of food in a school cafeteria. This position ensures that all meals meet nutritional guidelines and are served in a timely and sanitary manner. The worker also assists with cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and cafeteria facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; Previous experience in food service, particularly in a school setting, is preferred but not required; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks; Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; Ability to withstand exposure to heat, steam, and noise; Ability to follow oral and written instructions. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must complete the O.N.E. Course within the first year of employment; Maintains an acceptable level of personal hygiene; Attends in-service training as provided by the CNS Department; Follows recipes and instructions accurately;
REPORTS TO:
Director of School Nutrition
SALARY RANGE:
Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide
