Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty wood products. We currently have twenty-three locations, providing distribution into the eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets. Our primary customers turn our wood into something special.
Warehouse/Mill Associates
should have experience in warehouse operations, distribution and machinery. Perform general bulk receiving and truck loading. Perform warehouse distribution activities. Ability to read a tape measure and do basic math functions. Previous or current forklift certification required. An ideal candidate would have
lumber
and or
lumberyard
experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operates forklift truck during the loading and unloading of lumber material. Utilize cutting tools and equipment such as power saw and circular saw. Guide lumber through mill equipment, and planning mill for fine finishing and processing. Take inventory and maintain accurate record of material and process orders. Maximize production time and finish product yield. Maintains PPE and safety equipment. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during work operations. Physical strength, dexterity and stamina. Education/Qualifications:
High School diploma. Some experience in warehouse operations, distribution, etc. in building materials or related product areas. Forklift operation certification. Hardwood knowledge is preferred.
