People Services (HR) Generalist
People Services (HR) Generalist/Specialist Location: Los Angeles, CA On-site full-time The People Services Specialist is a key member of the People Services team, responsible for providing comprehensive support across the employee lifecycle while owning critical compliance, systems, and engagement processes. This role manages leave programs, immigration, benefits, and HR systems while also contributing to employee engagement, compliance, and safety initiatives. The Specialist partners closely with managers, employees, and external vendors to ensure compliance, operational excellence, and a positive employee experience across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle & Compliance Administer employee leave programs (FMLA, ADA, multi-state, and company-provided leaves), ensuring compliance and accurate tracking. Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, final pay, property retrieval, and compliance with legal requirements. Lead quarterly compliance audits, HR reporting (EEO-1, ACA, OSHA, Form 5500), and support risk mitigation strategies. Draft, update, and roll out policies and compliance training programs across multiple regions (U.S., EMEA, India, LatAm). Benefits & Compensation Manage administration of employee benefits programs, including health, life, wellness, and retirement plans. Act as primary liaison with benefit vendors, supporting renewals, open enrollment, and employee communications. Administer 401(k) programs, ensuring compliance, contributions management, and employee education. Support annual compensation processes, including merit cycle administration, promotion reviews, and benchmarking. Engagement & Culture Lead employee engagement initiatives, including annual survey, company events, Founders Day, and recognition programs. Serve as Safety Committee Officer, coordinating OSHA compliance, drills, and incident reporting. Partner with leadership to develop and execute engagement action plans that drive measurable improvements. HR Systems & Data Serve as the HRIS (ADP) system administrator: oversee workflows, reporting, integrations, and data audits. Generate HR dashboards and analytics to inform decision-making and compliance tracking. Provide training and support to managers and employees on HRIS use and functionality. Onboarding & Immigration Facilitate new hire onboarding, including system setup, orientation, and policy training. Own immigration processes (H-1B, L-1, renewals, documentation) in partnership with legal counsel, ensuring timely and compliant submissions. Project & Vendor Management Lead and execute company-wide initiatives such as compliance training rollouts, Founders Day, and engagement programs. Partner with external vendors (benefits carriers, legal, HR technology providers) to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR/People Services experience. Proven expertise in leave administration, benefits, and compliance across multiple states; global exposure preferred. Strong HRIS administration experience (ADP preferred), including reporting and system optimization. Knowledge of employment law, OSHA compliance, and risk mitigation practices. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust and handle sensitive matters with integrity, professionalism, and in compliance with applicable laws. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Preferred:
SHRM-CP or PHR certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience supporting immigration processes and multi-region HR operations. Strong vendor management and project leadership experience.
