**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Specialized Neurological Unit**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our specialized neurological unit. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance your nursing skills while working in a dynamic environment dedicated to the care of patients with various neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain Barre Syndrome.
As a nurse in our comprehensive stroke center and Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, you will play a critical role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients using advanced continuous video EEG technology. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that values the essential skills and compassionate care you bring to your patients.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological disorders. - Monitor and assess telemetry readings and recognize any changes in a patient's condition. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans. - Utilize critical thinking skills and clinical judgment in patient assessments and interventions. - Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
**Qualifications:** - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State. - Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in a telemetry or specialized care setting. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is highly preferred. - Previous telemetry experience is required.
**Work Schedule:** - 3x12.0 rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and potential on-call/callback responsibilities. - Commitment to a 17-week contract starting September 15, 2025, with an end date of January 10, 2026.
