R&D Software Engineering Scientist Associate

Design, develop, test, document and maintain production and R&D sonar and security system software in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) of Applied Research Laboratories. Responsibilities

Design and develop sonar software applications and scripts in a Linux environment using C/C++, Python, and Bash. Create supporting documentation for software and systems. Maintain and test new and legacy code. Participate in data collection exercises, data management, and analysis. Support the installation and testing of equipment in field locations. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field. A strong proficiency in Python, Git, and Bash scripting. Extensive experience with Linux terminal and Desktop. Extensive experience with data visualization using python tools such as matplotlib. Demonstrated ability to follow coding standards and testing standards as well as the ability to define and document complex software applications. Ability to examine the details of complex algorithms. Applicant must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail, and possess sound scientific judgment. The position will require effective management of their own time with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. Regular and punctual attendance in the workplace is required. US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of Linux Development. Angular Frontend Web Experience. C++ and CMake Experience in a RHEL environment. Experience working with Virtual Machines and Containers. Remote Server management running Linux maintaining Git DevOps Pipelines. Full Stack Web App Experience. Immediate eligibility for access to classified information. Cumulative GPA of 3.0. Salary Range

$88,500-$120,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications. Working Conditions

Standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Some weekend, evening and holiday work. Possible interstate/intrastate travel. Required Materials
