Software Development Associate
Design, develop, test, document and maintain production and R&D sonar and security system software in the Advanced Tactical Systems Division (ATSD) of Applied Research Laboratories (ARL). Responsibilities: Design and develop sonar software applications and scripts in a Linux environment using C/C++, Python, and Bash. Create supporting documentation for software and systems. Maintain and test new and legacy code. Participate in data collection exercises, data management, and analysis. Support the installation and testing of equipment in field locations. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline. Strong proficiency in Python, C++, Git, SQL, and bash scripting. Demonstrated ability to follow coding standards and testing standards as well as the ability to define and document complex software applications. Ability to examine the details of complex algorithms. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to contribution and enabling the entire team. Applicant must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail, and possess sound scientific judgment. The position will require effective management of their own time with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. Regular and punctual attendance in the workplace is required. US Citizen. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Graphical User Interfaces in a Linux Environment. Two years of Linux Development. C# experience. Frontend Web experience. Experience working with Virtual Machines. QT development experience. Familiarity with Machine Learning and Training. Immediate access to classified information. Cumulative GPA of 3.0+. Salary Range: $88,500-$120,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications. Working Conditions: Standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Some weekend, evening and holiday work. Possible interstate/intrastate travel.
