The unit includes 12 suites for general OR and 1 CVOR suite, along with 1 hybrid room. The average number of cases per day is 14. Technicians must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and be certified surgical technologists. Common types of Regular OR cases include orthopedic (total joints), gynecological, urology, trauma surgeries, ENT, general cases, some plastics, vascular, neuro, and robotics. Transplants are not performed. Common CVOR cases include open heart surgeries, valves, thoracotomy, and trauma. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is Cerner.
