Posted Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Reports to: Director of Field Human Resources FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 annually Summary: At Mendocino Farms, we don’t just sell sandwiches – we Sell Happy! As a Human Resources Generalist , you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the Team Member experience across all our locations. This dynamic position involves managing and facilitating key HR processes throughout the Team Member lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions and transfers, engagement initiatives, recognition programs, risk administration, and offboarding. As part of the Team Member Support Team , you will collaborate closely with Recruiting and Training teams within the broader People Department to ensure seamless HR operations. Your contributions will help foster a positive workplace culture while aligning with Mendocino Farms' mission to create happy experiences for both our Team Members and guests. Responsibilities: Team Member Onboardin
g: Conduct onboarding for all team members, including Managers in Training (MITs) and Base Campers, ensuring proper setup of permissions and access in collaboration with other departments. I-9 Compliance:
Manage the I-9 approval process, including annual audits to ensure compliance and help us to automate this process in the future Team Member Movements:
Process promotions, transfers, and career climber increases accurately and efficiently in our HR System, Dayforce Team Member Engagement:
Support and implement team member engagement initiatives onsite at Base Camp (what we call our regional headquarters office) Awards and Recognition Programs:
Administer team member recognition programs to celebrate and reward contributions and work anniversaries Team Member Support:
Serve as a resource for team members, addressing questions related to workers' compensation, benefits, and basic policy questions Offboarding:
Manage the offboarding process for team members upon resignation or termination Risk Administration:
Oversee Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Property Damage claims, ensuring timely processing and resolution Return-to-Work Coordination:
Manage cases of team members out of work due to work-related injuries or leaves of absence and coordinate their return to work in partnership with Benefits and Field HR Incident Reporting:
Ensure proper investigation, reporting, and resolution of incidents in restaurants involving guests or team members Policy Development:
Assist in developing and implementing human resources policies and procedures that align with company goals Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure legal compliance by staying updated on federal and state regulations and implementing necessary changes Other Duties:
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the People Department’s goals Requirements: BA in human resources, business or related field or equivalent work experience 2-3+ years of related experience SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential preferred, if desiring to grow your career in the HR field Experience in multi-unit, restaurant or retail preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Experienced in human resource principles, practices and procedures Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to function well in a high-paced environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or related software Bilingual in Spanish a plus Benefits Include At Mendocino Farms, we believe Selling Happy starts from within.
