Position Summary Goldman Sachs is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join the Private Markets Investing & Lending (PMIL) team. The team operates within the Global Banking and Markets division, focusing on underwriting debt facilities collateralized by private credit and private equity investments. The candidate will be involved in analyzing and underwriting new investment opportunities, with responsibilities including due diligence, monitoring investments, financial modeling, and preparing investment memoranda. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct due diligence, underwriting, structuring, and closing of new investments.
Monitor investments post-closing.
Evaluate potential investment opportunities and participate in strategic initiatives.
Create financial models and communicate key variables and risks.
Research and analyze prospective investments, developing quantitative analyses.
Prepare internal investment approval memoranda and presentations.
Support special projects and ad hoc analyses as directed by senior management.
Identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations.
Uphold Goldman Sachs core values.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or related field.
1-3 years of relevant financial or accounting experience.
Proficiency in financial modeling and analytical skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop complex financial analyses and summarize information effectively.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Quick learner with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Sound business judgment and decision-making abilities.
