Data Engineer - Associate / VP - Dallas - Global Banking & Markets at Goldman Sachs Your Role
Join Goldman Sachs to build massively scalable software and systems, architect low latency infrastructure, guard against cyber threats, and leverage machine learning to turn data into action. You will contribute to data strategy, technology transformation initiatives, and enterprise applications enabling data-driven decision making across the organization. Responsibilities Architect and implement enterprise-grade solutions for client data management, focusing on data integrity, integration, and distribution capabilities Drive technology modernization efforts by transitioning legacy systems to next-generation data solutions Develop sophisticated ETL processes to integrate, transform, and distribute mission-critical client information across business units Partner with business stakeholders to translate domain-specific requirements into robust data models and controls Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within an agile delivery framework Design and develop modern data management tools to curate key data sets, models, and processes, identifying areas for automation and efficiency
Technologies
Python, Java, AWS, KDB, InfluxDB, SQL Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline 3+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments Proficiency in object-oriented programming with demonstrated expertise in Java Strong database skills with experience in enterprise-grade ORM interactions Experience with data modeling methodologies and ETL pipeline development Familiarity with RESTful service design and implementation patterns Demonstrated success working within Agile delivery frameworks Understanding of enterprise data management principles and practices Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team Commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable code
Preferred Qualifications
Financial services industry experience, particularly in client data domains Hands-on experience with the Legend/Pure data modeling ecosystem Experience with cloud-native application development and deployment
