Our client, a technology-driven investment firm, is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team. This globally recognized firm is committed to world-class research and applies cutting-edge innovation to global financial markets. The role will involve supporting a variety of business initiatives and working closely with teams across the organization, including technology, compliance, and operations. The position is based in the Chicago office, with an expectation of being onsite most of the week.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (infrastructure, technology, vendor, licensing, NDAs, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for telecom and wireless infrastructure matters.
  • Advise internal teams on legal and business risks.
  • Manage contract lifecycles (renewals, renegotiations, terminations).
  • Partner across teams to support growth and infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain templates, playbooks, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to broader legal and compliance initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. and bar admission in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience handling commercial contracts.
  • Experience with wireless/telecom or leasing agreements a strong plus.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
