US Search Specialist | Expertise in Risk Management and Finance

Credit Director – Deputy Chief Credit Officer | Location: New York City (Hybrid – 1-day WFH) | $275,000 – $300,000 (plus bonus and benefits)

We’re working with a highly respected, award-winning commercial bank in New York that’s looking for a senior leader to join their credit risk team. This role sits right at the heart of the business — helping guide the bank’s commercial lending strategy while protecting portfolio quality and meeting regulatory expectations.

If you’re a seasoned credit professional with a proven track record in CRE and/or C&I lending (Healthcare/SNF experience a plus) and you’re ready to take on a role with big influence and high visibility, this could be your next move.

What you’ll be doing :

• Partnering with business teams to grow the loan portfolio while keeping risks within the bank’s appetite.
• Leading and overseeing credit underwriting teams, ensuring well-structured deals and robust credit analysis.
• Playing a key role in credit committees and lending strategy discussions.
• Monitoring portfolio health, spotting early risk indicators, and taking action before issues arise.
• Guiding stress testing, risk reporting, and regulatory compliance in all credit matters.
• Mentoring and developing team members across credit and lending functions.
• Leading strategic projects to improve credit processes and adopt new technology.
• Acting as a trusted point of contact for regulators and auditors on credit risk topics.

What we’re looking for :

• 15+ years in CRE and/or C&I lending, with deep credit training and experience in complex loan structuring.
• Ability to manage large credit exposures and lead credit-intensive decision-making.
• Strong leadership skills — able to inspire, coach, and develop multiple teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Deep knowledge of credit risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
• Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves to get things done.
