Postdoc Research Scientist

This position is in the experimental condensed matter physics research group of Prof. Samaresh Guchhait. The successful candidate will synthesize and study correlated and low-dimensional magnetic materials, with a focus on quantum materials synthesis and characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synthesize and analyze structural, magnetic, and electronic properties of magnetic materials.
• Collaborate with students and researchers, participate in grant writing, and contribute to publications and reports.
• Travel for research collaborations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics or related field by the start date.
• Strong expertise in quantum materials synthesis and characterization techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Programming skills are highly desirable; fabrication experience is a plus.

Contract Details:

• Duration: Two years, with an initial one-year appointment and possible extension based on performance.
• Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
