American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position specializing in post-surgical care with recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience.Job Details•Position is on a 32-bed surgical Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting,•Cares for patients post-vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery,•Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples procedures, and sepsis,•RN patient ratios are 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night,•LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) ratios range from 1:7 to 1:11, shared with the PCU,•Requires experience with chest tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, complex wounds, central lines, and post-surgical lines/drains,•Care includes drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone,•Telemetry monitoring is required,•Travelers must float as needed,Job Requirements•Active RN license required and must remain active for the duration of the contract,•Current BLS certification required,•Recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma setting within the last 2 years,•Experience with post-surgical care for vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery patients,•Proficiency in care and maintenance of central lines, complex wounds, and post-surgical drains,•Experience with telemetry and intravenous medication drips,Additional Information•Role requires providing specialized nursing care for complex surgical patients, including frequent monitoring and intervention,•Unit shares resources and patient flow with the Progressive Care Unit (PCU),•No local candidates accepted; candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility,•Work in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and within a larger system of seven acute care facilities in Vermont and New Hampshire,•All required licenses and certifications must be current and compliant at the time of consideration,),•hash,:•11699493094561365572,
