Lead Data Engineer - Python & Cloud Technologies

Your Role:
Work closely with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions utilizing full-stack development tools and technologies.
Collaborate with a team of skilled developers specializing in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python along with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
Stay updated with tech trends, continuously experiment with new technologies, engage in tech communities, and mentor fellow engineers.
Work alongside digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
Conduct thorough unit tests and engage in code reviews to ensure your work is of the highest quality, efficiently designed, elegantly coded, and optimally tuned for performance.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
At least 3 years of application development experience (excluding internships).
A minimum of 1 year in big data technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of application development experience using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
2+ years of experience in a public cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
3+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools (e.g., MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL).
2+ years working with real-time data and streaming applications.
2+ years of NoSQL implementation experience (e.g., Mongo, Cassandra).
2+ years of data warehousing experience (e.g., Redshift or Snowflake).
3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting.
2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices.

The full-time annual salary for this role ranges from $158,600 to $181,000 in McLean, VA. Salaries for other locations may vary, and actual offers will be reflected in the candidate's offer letter. Additionally, this role is eligible for performance-based compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
