Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, implement, and support scalable technical solutions using a variety of development tools and technologies.
Engage with seasoned developers who specialize in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
Utilize programming languages including Java, Scala, Python, as well as RDBMS and NoSQL databases with cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
Stay updated with technology trends, explore new tools, and actively participate in tech communities while mentoring peers in the engineering community.
Work closely with digital product managers to create robust cloud-based solutions that enhance financial empowerment for millions of customers.
Conduct thorough unit tests and code reviews to ensure your solutions are well-designed, optimized, and efficiently tuned for performance.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
4+ years of professional experience in application development.
2+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies.
1+ year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years in application development including proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
4+ years’ experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
4+ years working with distributed data/computing tools (e.g., MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark).
4+ years of real-time data and streaming applications experience.
4+ years of NoSQL implementation experience (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake).
4+ years of experience working in UNIX/Linux environments including shell scripting.
2+ years working within Agile engineering practices.
This role is located in McLean, VA or Richmond, VA, and the salary range is as follows: McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700; Richmond, VA: $175,800 - $200,700 for Lead Data Engineers.
