Inside Higher Ed . This position is based at the School of Medicine, Stanford University, California. The Department of Genetics at Stanford's School of Medicine is a leader in genomics, computational biology, and translational research. We focus on developing advanced computational frameworks and data analysis systems for single-cell and spatial omics data, aiming to facilitate new discoveries in developmental biology and disease modeling. We are seeking up to two Software Developer 1s to support our interdisciplinary team in developing modular automatic data analysis systems for single-cell and spatial data. The successful candidates will contribute to designing, implementing, and scaling cloud-based applications that support predictive models of organogenesis and disease progression. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work at the cutting edge of biomedical data science, collaborating with top researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs in a dynamic academic and translational environment. Responsibilities include:

Assessing user needs and requirements. Designing and developing applications involving complex data manipulation. Maintaining and updating existing programs. Troubleshooting technical issues. Creating programs for reporting and analysis. Designing and implementing user and operations training programs. Documenting software changes for end users. Following team development methodologies. Serving as a technical resource for applications. Supporting research translation, licensing, and commercialization efforts, including collaboration with venture capital firms and Stanfords innovation ecosystem. Assisting with scientific writing, data visualization, and manuscript preparation. *Other duties may also be assigned.* Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields. Strong background in data science or computational biology, especially in handling single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, or imaging data. Experience in automatic data analysis tool development, deployment, distributed systems, etc. Proficiency in Python, R, or other scientific programming languages, with experience in software development and data pipelines. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and collaborative tools (GitHub, Docker). Knowledge of scientific publication processes and manuscript preparation. Ability to assess needs, troubleshoot, and design scalable applications. Knowledge of research translation and commercialization, including startup planning and VC engagement. Ability to work independently and in teams within a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination. Physical & Work Conditions:

Desk-based computer tasks, sitting, light manipulation, occasional standing/walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. May require extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
