Responsibilities
Leverage both existing relationships and expand network of key decision makers in target industries that require new facilities, warehouses, office complexes, data centers, or other major construction projects. Participate in industry-focused trade shows and conferences to broaden McShane Construction’s visibility and connect with potential clients Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to design campaigns that appeal directly to executive decision makers. Coordinate with the Vice President to review potential projects, ensuring they are a strategic fit for McShane Construction. Partner with the selected project team to craft compelling proposals—contribute to developing specifications, schedules, and other proposal materials. Work alongside the Vice President to close sales and secure signed contracts. Develop an annual marketing and sales strategy, clearly outlining objectives for the upcoming year.
Requirements
15+ years of experience in industrial construction, specialty contracting, supply chain and/or economic development. Current network in the industrial construction market, particularly upper Midwest and Southeast. Strong business development and interpersonal skills to open doors and foster relationships. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be comfortable balancing multiple simultaneous pursuits in a potentially fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Requires a venturesome nature, working with others to solve problems. Will need to comfortably navigate conflict of ideas, opinions, and people. Decisions will need to be made rapidly, with little background information. Requires tolerance for risky decisions. Communication must be confident, direct, and poised. Ability to direct others and motivate them to act. There is much freedom in this position, with a heavy focus on independence and self-reliance. Expect to have agency when setting priorities and objectives.
Key Information
In-person role based in the company’s Rosemont, IL headquarters or regional Auburn, AL office. If based in Auburn, travel to Rosemont required two days/month minimum. Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
