BD Job Description Summary The Director, Strategic Account Management is accountable for managing the Strategic Account Managers in the US Region’s Mid-market health systems (IDNs). The SCD will represent the entire BD portfolio and lead a multi-functional matrix team consisting of sales, business unit national accounts, clinical services, GPO, customer care, supply chain, channel management, marketing, medical affairs & quality to ensure the customers' goals & objectives, BD sales growth, and profitability targets are achieved. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic account business plans, building executive relationships, and achieving key business metrics such as revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Drive high-value business development initiatives to achieve revenue and gross profit targets Develop and expand relationships with executive and enterprise-level decision makers Act as the BD account leader at assigned accounts Lead the development of enterprise strategies Proactively grow accounts by being the "One BD" Account leader Identify and lead enterprise opportunities Present compelling and innovative ideas to executives and decision makers to co-create value Think expansively about the value BD can bring across all solution sets Skills and Competencies Results-driven: Lead account growth, achieve business goals independently Project Management: Oversee account teams and implement plans successfully Problem-Solver: Foster collaboration and develop impactful concepts Relationship Lead: Build relationships with decision makers to drive revenue Domain Knowledge: Expertise in healthcare industry and BD solutions Collaborator: Influence without authority and excel in customer interactions Experience and Education Bachelor's degree required; graduate or clinical degree preferred Leadership experience in sales preferred At least 5 years in large account management/IDN experience Minimum 7 years in healthcare sales/marketing Proven ability to engage C-suite executives Understanding hospital operations and decision-making Solution and consultative selling experience Experience negotiating complex agreements Experience in matrix organizations Ability to adapt to change and embrace new opportunities Experience working with health systems at the C-suite level Developed joint business plans Excellent communication and influencing skills At BD, we invest in our associates' well-being and development, offering competitive compensation and benefits. Salary ranges are based on experience, education, skills, and location, ranging from $190k to $206k annually including base and incentives.
