JOBSUMMARY
Thisposition is responsible for directing the university’s communications andmarketing functions utilizing the department’s web-related strategies, socialmedia and digital assets as well as website development and contentmanagement.
MAJOR DUTIES
Develops and implements digital platform communication, marketing and technical strategies for a three campus and online public higher education institution. This includes evaluating assets and practices and coordinating with appropriate staff on the appearance, structure, content, navigability and usability of the university’s web properties in accordance with the Department of Justice’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, on-campus digital information screens and outsourced digital assets. Serves as the liaison, with all relevant staff, for web operations and content, including promotion, access and digital delivery of general and academic information for the web, while monitoring compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Provides strategic marketing counsel and leadership to university colleges and departments to enhance web page appearance, functionality and content, in collaboration with the V.P. for University Relations, the Director of Admissions & Recruitment, the Dean of the Graduate College and the Director of Communications & Marketing. Manages the implementation and content of needed outsourced services including, but not limited to: content management system, digital web-based campus map, web-monitoring service, web hosting services, central digital calendar, digital campus monitors and digital billboards. In collaboration with the VP of University Relations and the Director of Communications and Marketing, provides oversight of digital marketing agency vendor contracts to direct the placement of all paid digital media advertising including, but not limited to, social media, programmatic, display, and paid search to boost upper-funnel visibility, increasing lead generation and maximizing media spend. Provides appropriate oversight of all direct reports: web and graphics coordinator, web accessibility coordinator, department student workers and support staff within the department. Develops and implements new digital marketing initiatives to meet the university’s academic, recruitment, retention, administrative and advancement goals, in collaboration with Graphic Designers, the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Dean of the Graduate College and the Director for Admissions and Recruitment. Oversees digital services including, but not limited to: content management systems, digital web-based campus map, web-monitoring service, central digital calendar, on-campus signage and digital billboards. Works with support staff to ensure licensing policies and procedure are being adhered to. Works with the Director of Communications & Marketing, Project Coordinator, Senior Graphic Artist, Administrative Assistant and the VP for University Relations to advance the department’s strategic goals, while ensuring that they align with the University’s overarching strategic plan. Develops and oversees web page content, marketing, initiatives and module enhancements. Serves as institution’s web master. Monitor and make recommendations for ADA compliance as it relates to NSU’s Website, social media and digital graphics by creating guidelines for website content, design and functionality to meet WCAG 2.1, Level AA guidelines as per the Department of Justice and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Works in collaboration with developers and designers to establish procedures, address issues and improve accessibility problems that are identified through regular audits to meet guidelines in compliance with the Department of Justice and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Establish procedures and work with developers and designers, in conjunction with the Web and Graphics Coordinator and the Web Compliance Coordinator, to improve accessibility problems that are identified through regular audits and testing, and serves as a resource for accessibility questions to promote a culture of accessibility within the campus community. Assures that all appropriate NSU employees are provided with sufficient training in the management of the content on their program or department’s web pages. Collaborates with the Web and Graphics Coordinator and the Web Compliance Coordinator to address compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1, Level AA) and relevant regulations by staying up-to-date on the latest standards and practices. Works closely with video project coordinator and photographer to produce a significant quantity of well-produced videos and photos that convey appropriate messages across multiple platforms while ensuring that ADA compliance is adhered to. Works in conjunction with the Director of Communications and Marketing to develop messaging for distribution through a broad range of media and provides creative direction for the university’s major recruitment initiatives. Provides resources and oversees training, as needed, to assist the university in maximizing its social media presence. Assists with developing content and strategies for the official university social media platforms. Defines and executes online brand presence consistent with overall university branding. Coordinates and collaborates with ITS to ensure data integration and display between ERP systems and the web CMS. Researches emerging website and social media trends and makes recommendations for future development. Oversees and distributes monthly web and social media analytics reports. Develops traffic-increase measures for the website and social media. Reviews quality and ensures consistency of information throughout websites and mobile applications. Develops web policies, procedures and strategies. Identifies target markets and secures print media buys. Identifies opportunities to collaborate with colleges and departments to provide promotional and marketing support for recruitment and retention. Supports the VP of University Relations and support staff in the coordinating and implementation of groundbreaking and ribbon cutting events. Assists in the department’s fiscal management and monitoring of expenditures. Serves on assigned committees. Supervises and trains department personnel. Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in a related field. Annual salary $62,088.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
