Half-time, Exempt administrative position Job Overview The Interim Marketing & Communications Manager advances Cedarwood Waldorf School’s mission by sharing its story with warmth, clarity, and creativity. This role is responsible for implementing marketing and communication strategies that strengthen enrollment, enhance community engagement, and uphold the school’s unique identity. Implement consistent use of brand voice, visuals, and messaging across all platforms and materials. Conduct campaigns that increase visibility in Portland and beyond, emphasizing the school’s innovative and community-centered approach. Communications Manage all internal and external communications, including newsletters, website updates, press releases, and social media channels. Partner with faculty and administration to share authentic stories of student learning, community life, and school initiatives. Collaborate with the Advancement team on production of print and digital publications, marketing collateral, and promotional materials. Community Engagement & Events Support admissions and advancement efforts with communication materials and campaigns. Collaborate with the Advancement team on fundraising initiatives, including annual giving, events, and donor communications. Help coordinate and promote school events, festivals, and open houses. Digital Presence Maintain and enhance the school’s website for accuracy, accessibility, and storytelling. Track digital analytics to evaluate reach and effectiveness, adapting strategies accordingly. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related roles, ideally in education or nonprofit sectors. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an eye for design. Proficiency with digital tools and platforms (Squarespace, Canva/Adobe Creative Suite, social media management, email marketing systems). Project management skills with ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines. Collaborative spirit and appreciation for community-based work; ability to engage warmly with parents, staff, and volunteers. Understanding of, or openness to learning about, Waldorf education and Cedarwood’s mission. Salary range: $35,000 – $38,000 per year
