The Marketing & Communications Manager will support the Advancement Director and Enrollment Manager in fulfilling the Marketing and Communications strategies and goals for the department.The role upholds OCA’s Core Values, Proven Process, and Mission Statement while promoting excellence in Christian education. Full-Time, possibility of hybrid, salary $50,000 - $55,000 Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Photography:

Capture high-quality photos and videos of school events, classroom activities, and students for use in marketing materials, newsletters, and social media. Ensure a balanced view across both campuses. Organize all photo/video content in a central system. Maintain and reference a “no-photo” list to ensure compliance with student privacy permissions. Compile annual End-of-Year campus videos. Content Creation:

Develop engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, ensuring alignment with the school’s brand and messaging according to the posting schedule provided in conjunction with and alongside supervisor’s lead. Social media management:

Manage and monitor all social media pages, respond to inquiries, run ads, and engage with followers to foster community, brand loyalty, and recruitment. This includes joining and participating in relevant local Facebook groups (e.g., Garner Moms) to monitor conversations and encourage recommendations for OCA. Maintain school profiles on review sites like Niche and GreatSchools, including soliciting current parent reviews. Parent Newsletters:

Create and distribute weekly online newsletters (Bucks Bulletin) tailored for each campus, keeping parents informed about school events, updates, and news. This includes marketing content needed for each newsletter. Marketing and Communications Strategy:

Work alongside the Advancement Director to strategize, implement, and be accountable for the school's marketing and communications strategies, ensuring they align with the school’s goals and objectives. Internal Communications:

Manage the school’s internal communications through Parent Square, Bucks Bulletin, emergency alerts, and ensure timely and effective communication between the school and its community. Create name badges for new employees. Website Management:

Maintain, update, and improve the school website using the Finalsite platform, ensuring that all content is current, accurate, and visually appealing. Design and Branding:

Design marketing materials including flyers, brochures, and digital ads, using tools like Canva and Adobe Illustrator. Design and manage (alongside vendors) all sports uniforms, merch, logoed uniforms, etc. as needed/directed. External Communications:

Craft and manage all external communications, including press releases, community outreach, merch vendors, champion newsletters/communications, End of Year Campaign letters (alongside development department), and public relations efforts.Keep school media lists updated for press and outreach. Lead communication efforts for the NC Opportunity Scholarship, ensuring families understand timelines, eligibility, and impact. Event Marketing:

Assist in planning, content creation, attending, and promoting school and advancement events through various marketing and communication channels. Take point on specific marketing focused events such as the annual Garner Christmas Parade. Analytics and Reporting:

Tracks and analyzes the performance of marketing campaigns, SEO, social media engagement, and provides insights and recommendations for improvement. Roundtable Member:

Joins the Roundtable team in bi-weekly meetings to discuss whole school needs and marketing/communication responsibilities around those needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism with 2 years’ experience in the related fields; or 5 plus years’ experience and training in the equivalent fields. Experience: Experience with photography and content creation. Experience with website management (Finalsite a plus). Experience with marketing and communications strategy. Experience with internal and external communications management. Experience working in faith-based schools or educational organizations is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: A passion for education and the ability to communicate the school’s mission and values effectively. Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission of Oak City Academy. Passionate commitment to OCA’s mission of Christ-centered education. Proven experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably within an educational setting. Strong proficiency in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing strategies. Experience with design tools, including Canva and Adobe Illustrator. Creative ability to design beautiful layouts, flyers, and letters as needed. Proficiency in website management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously/detail oriented. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including school administration, teachers, and parents. Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills. Resourceful and able to think through problems towards creative and effective solutions. Maintains a positive, relaxed demeanor under stress. Highly relational.
