Position Summary: The Applications Engineer will design, plan, and coordinate the mechanical, electrical, and software integration for Fives products, controls, and processes to deliver technology-driven components for various industry applications including aerospace, automotive, energy, oil & gas, and heavy equipment. Scope and Responsibilities: Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Collaborate with customers to identify new applications, markets, and opportunities for Fives processing equipment and technologies. Identify opportunities to improve equipment capabilities based on customer feedback and future needs. Develop new processing systems based on market trends. Analyze customer manufacturing requirements. Prepare simulations and reports using Catia and composite CAM software. Recommend suitable machine types for applications. Stay updated on technological advancements. Visit customer facilities to support system implementation and resolve issues. Provide market insights and feedback to management. Deliver presentations on equipment applications and capabilities. This role requires frequent travel, up to 75-85%, to support business needs. Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. At least five years of experience in industrial manufacturing. 3-5 years in machine tool manufacturing. Experience with deposition of pre-preg materials onto layup and cure molding. Experience with automated manufacturing equipment. Skills: Proficiency in engineering CAD tools. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of machine tools and processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
