Linux System Administrator

to join our team in

Laurel, MD . You will be part of a dedicated team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce supporting various national defense missions. This role directly supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organizationthe foundation of all Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) for MPO. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Configure and manage Linux operating systems, including installing/loading OS software, troubleshooting, maintaining network component integrity, and implementing OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes. Provide support for day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices. Support the dispatch system and hardware issues, remaining involved in resolution processes. Optimize system operations, resource utilization, and perform capacity analysis and planning. Analyze and resolve complex problems related to server hardware, applications, and software integration. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university with 12+ years of experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. An additional 3 years of experience may substitute for a degree, or 8 years of experience with a high school diploma. Proficiency in troubleshooting in a Linux Red Hat environment. Experience with VMWare. Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Splunk or Ansible. IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of employment). Acceptable certifications include CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with full lifecycle management of Linux systems, including provisioning, configuration management, and patching. Red Hat Certified System Administrator Certification. Experience with NetAPP. Clearance Requirements: Must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Physical Requirements: The person in this position must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time. Occasional movement inside the office for collaboration, using standard office equipment, and virtual communication.
