Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Spatial Data Warehousing Specialist with deep expertise in ArcGIS and modern data warehousing techniques to design, build, and manage enterprise-scale geospatial and alphanumeric data warehouses. This role focuses on integrating diverse data sources, enabling geospatial capabilities within data lakes and warehouses, and publishing these datasets for mapping, reporting, and advanced geospatial analytics. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop efficient data pipelines, support business intelligence (BI) initiatives, and enable self-service data visualization using ArcGIS tools and modern BI platforms. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with both traditional and modern data architectures, cloud-based data services, and geospatial data modeling.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain spatial data warehouses and data lakes that integrate geospatial and non-geospatial datasets for enterprise analytics and reporting Leverage ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro to geospatially enable warehouse data and provide web-based mapping services and analytical capabilities Create data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and consolidate data from multiple sources into centralized spatial data repositories Implement spatial indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning strategies for efficient query execution and map rendering Enable integration between data warehouses and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS Dashboards) to support self-service analytics and interactive geospatial reporting Develop prototypes, proof-of-concept visualizations, and dashboards to demonstrate warehouse capabilities to stakeholders and inform decision-making Apply modern data stack approaches (e.g., cloud-based architectures, API-driven integrations, and scalable pipelines) to improve efficiency and maintainability Collaborate with project managers, data engineers, and GIS analysts to ensure alignment of data models and project goals Establish and document data governance practices, metadata management, and security controls for spatial and non-spatial data in the warehouse Stay current with advancements in geospatial warehousing, cloud data technologies, and modern BI capabilities to continuously enhance system performance and user experience

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline Minimum of five years of experience building and managing data warehouses and/or data lakes with significant focus on geospatial data integration Proficiency with ArcGIS platforms including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online for data publishing and geospatial enablement Experience with relational and cloud-based database management systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and cloud warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) Strong skills in SQL and ETL/ELT processes for integrating and transforming large datasets Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools such as ArcGIS Dashboards, Power BI, or Tableau for geospatial analytics and reporting Knowledge of modern data architecture principles, including data lakes, APIs, and scalable cloud pipelines Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integrating spatial data across on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) Knowledge of metadata standards (FGDC, ISO 19115) and federal data governance practices Experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages for automating warehouse operations and geoprocessing tasks Certifications such as Esri Technical Certifications, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or AWS Data Analytics Specialty Prior experience in federal or large-scale enterprise environments supporting spatial data initiatives
