Position Overview:

SGL is seeking a proactive

Domestic Freight Forwarding Specialist

to manage

end-to-end

domestic operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of freight forwarding activities from initiating shipment documentation to providing customer service, coordinating with warehouses, and dispatching shipments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with freight forwarding or logistics experience who want to grow their career in domestic operations while gaining broad exposure across all aspects of the workflow.

Job Description: Manage the complete lifecycle of domestic shipments, including booking and processing incoming orders. Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, special requirements, and shipment updates. Coordinate with warehouse teams and dispatch to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight. Prepare and manage all transportation documentation, including delivery notes, transfer orders, and shipment records. Monitor carrier performance and serve as the primary escalation point for service-related issues. Investigate shipment complaints and claims, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up. Identify opportunities to improve internal logistics processes and provide recommendations to the department manager. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within domestic logistics operations to support business growth. Collaborate with multiple carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure consistent and on-time freight delivery. Perform additional logistics and operational support tasks as assigned. Education & Experience:

Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or domestic operations required. Experience with bonded freight and cargo. Ability to manage the end-to-end shipment process and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications & Skills:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

Schedule:

8-hour shift (Monday to Friday)

Pay:

$26.44 - $27.88 Per Hour
