General Purpose:

Responsible for the overall operation of the Credit Administration Department. The Credit Administration Manager will ensure the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of the credit process.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. Oversee the evaluation of credit applications and ensure accurate assessment of creditworthiness and appropriate credit limits. Maintain accurate and complete credit files to ensure compliance with records management procedures and audit standards. Supervise credit administration staff and foster collaboration with cross functional teams. Provide training and guidance to ensure consistent application of policies. Lead, coach, and develop credit administration staff to ensure high performance and adherence to lending standards. Manage credit administration operations for commercial loans, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making. Design and implement performance metrics to measure individual and team production. Develop, administer and monitor goals for department production and each team member. Support goal review and development through monthly one on ones, side by side coaching and regular meetings. Implement and execute all direction received from the Vice President Business Lending. Responsible for supporting business lenders in reviewing, decisioning, closing and booking loan requests. Responsible for assisting the business lending departments in the on-going administration and servicing requirements in their loan portfolios. Responsible for assisting in the credit union's budgeting process as it pertains to the Credit Administration Department. Maintain the organizational structure established by the President. Organize departmental personnel into effective and efficient work groups. Ensure direct reports are granted appropriate authority and responsibility to carry out their assigned functions. Review work systems to reduce redundancy of tasks performed and to streamline processes where possible. Remain current on changes within legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technology environments that may affect the operation of the department. Implement operational procedures that are in compliance with federal and state regulations. Establish, maintain and monitor policies, procedures and internal controls for the department. Read, interpret, review and ensure departmental compliance with all federal and state legislation/regulation that affects, or may, affect, the department. Assist the Vice President Business Lending with respect to recommendations for hiring, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, training and development, and interpretation of credit union rules and policies for department personnel. Conduct all personnel functions in accordance with applicable statutes (e.g., EEO, OSHA, Fair Labor, etc.)

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare standardized reports as directed by Management. Provide staff training on business loan functions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of process, procedural, and organizational changes. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President Business Lending. Job Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of financial industry fundamentals, with deep expertise in loan administration and loan portfolio quality control. Thorough understanding of federal and state laws and regulations governing Credit Union operations, with proven ability to ensure compliance. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders. In-depth familiarity with organizational policies, procedures, and the Credit Union's service philosophy, with a demonstrated ability to uphold and promote these standards. Proven capability in drafting, refining, and implementing organizational policies and procedures to support strategic and operational goals. Advanced proficiency in interpreting complex financial reports from diverse sources to inform decision-making and risk assessment. Strong working knowledge of Credit Union-specific computer systems and technology platforms, with the ability to leverage tools for operational efficiency. Advanced knowledge of laws and regulations affecting business lending. Job Qualifications (Skills):

Capable of drafting, revising, and enforcing policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Skilled in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness. Ability to lead and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in. Ability to guide junior staff, sharing expertise, and fostering professional development within the team. Job Qualifications (Education/Experience):

Job requires college level: Communications, Math, Analytical Skills, Finance and Accounting; or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit analysis, financial administration, or a related discipline. Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking, financial modeling, and effective communication.

Strong preference for candidates that have been a commercial/business or ag lender.

Occasional travel to one of BHFCU's branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
