Director, Global Market & Customer Insights
The Director, Global Market & Customer Insights will be responsible for supporting Moderna's Market and Customer Insights function and enabling global functions and market teams. This role will independently lead the scoping, generation, analysis, and socialization of insights to support brand strategy, long range forecasting, new product planning, pre-launch preparations, and market intelligence efforts. This Director will partner closely with Marketing, Market Access, and other functions to frame key business questions, manage external research vendors and ensure insights are integrated across functions to inform commercial decision-making. This role requires technical expertise in research and analytics, a strong consultative style and the ability to translate insights into strategic, actionable business recommendations. Additionally, the role will contribute to enhancing Moderna's research capabilities by piloting new methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation across the insights function. Here's What You'll Do: Insights Strategy & Execution: Serve as thought partner to cross-functional commercial teams and support Insights generation for strategy development and execution.
Identify key business gaps or questions, scope and execute research, and track market performance.
Deliver regular updates to leadership and develop a forward-looking insights agenda.
Build and sustain partnerships with assigned stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, and Corporate functions to align on key research priorities and translate insights into meaningful business strategies.
Market & Competitive Intelligence Integration: Effectively integrate Analytics and Competitive Intelligence to support informed decision making
Work closely with Competitive Intelligence, Analytics, New Product Planning, to monitor and report on marketplace dynamics, fostering a competitive mindset across the organization.
Brand & Commercial Planning Support: Provide insights to strengthen brand strategy, market assessments, and commercial planning for pipeline and in-line assets.
Capability Development & Innovation: Partner with Decision Sciences, Medical Excellence, and Digital teams to enhance market research methodologies and analytics capabilities.
Explore emerging AI and digital analytics techniques to drive innovation in insights generation.
Adaptability & Continuous Improvement: Flex between strategy and execution, proactively sharing knowledge of approaches to maintain Moderna's competitive advantage.
Vendor & Project Management: Manage external research partners, ensuring the effective scoping & execution of insights projects from study design through reporting.
Provide guidance and ensure research deliverables align with business needs and inform commercial & development decisions
Ensure all research adheres to compliance standards and best practices
Here's What You'll Need: 10+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/Biotech company, market research vendor, or consulting firm doing primary market research in support of the pharma/biotech industry
Experience in vaccines, Rare Diseases or Oncology experience is desirable
Prior experience in integrating insights/outputs from secondary datasets like IQVIA, Komodo, Veeva etc.
Experience leading Insights qual/quant projects like segmentation, positioning, messaging research, customer journeys, ATUs etc.
Strong communications skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Pricing & Market Access, HEOR, Marketing, etc.)
Prior experience in competitive intelligence and analytics is desirable but not required
Interest in AI and digital analytics tools for insights generation
Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
