Firm: AM Law 100 firm Responsibilities: Patent Prosecution: Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications with the USPTO, including preparing detailed invention descriptions, claims, and responses to office actions. Technical Analysis: Evaluate invention disclosures and conduct prior art searches to assess patentability and develop patent strategies. Client Support: Collaborate with inventors and clients (e.g., startups, corporations) to provide technical and patent-related guidance, explaining complex concepts clearly. Documentation: Prepare accurate patent documents, ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations and deadlines. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., engineering, computer science, biology, chemistry). Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred. Patent Bar: Must be registered with the USPTO by passing the patent bar exam (or hired as a technical specialist with intent to pursue registration). Experience: 1–4 years of experience in patent prosecution or related technical fields preferred.
