Title - Foreign Affairs Support: Trade Monitoring Client - NOAA Location - Silver Spring, MD
NMFS seeks support across its four seafood trade monitoring programs and implementation of Certification of Admissibility requirements for seafood import restrictions. Contractors will primarily support NMFS' implementation of its Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP), which includes the following activities:
? Provide guidance to Office leadership and personnel on all aspects of efforts to support the implementation and industry compliance of trade program requirements. ? Respond to inquiries received in NMFS support email and phone lines, such as technical questions to troubleshoot import clearance and collect feedback from public stakeholders. ? Develop compliance materials and other resources for NMFS trade monitoring programs for public stakeholders. ? Organize and assist in workshops, webinars, and calls to inform and support members of the affected public, including both international partners and domestic stakeholders, in their efforts to comply with program requirements. ? Learn NMFS databases that support trade data analysis and compliance efforts, such as the International Trade Data System, the Global Seafood Data System, and the National Permit System. ? Support other trade monitoring programs as needed, such as the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Program, Highly Migratory Species International Trade Program, and the Tuna Tracking and Verification Program.
Requirements ? Education and/or experience in natural resource policy and/or management, preferably fisheries and the nuances of IUU fishing, and seafood supply chains. ? Professional writing skills and the ability to interpret technical and regulatory concepts in plain language. ? Experience and knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides) ? Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well with others. ? Proficiency in one or more non-English languages is preferred but not essential.
